What Privvy is

Privvy is a privacy cover for computers you own or administer, with an optional phone app to see, control and talk through those computers. It hides what is on screen and blocks the physical keyboard and mouse. It is not encryption, not a security product, and not a substitute for locking your operating system. Someone with full physical control of a machine (power button, reboot, Ctrl+Alt+Del) can get past it.

Your responsibilities

• Use Privvy only on devices you own or are allowed to administer.
• Use the camera guard, the listen feature and remote control only where the law allows, and only on your own devices. Recording or listening to other people may require their consent where you are.
• Keep your account password private. Anyone with it and your phone can control your computers.
• Do not use Privvy to interfere with a computer that is not yours.

Early access and pricing

Privvy and Privvy Cloud are free during early access. We may introduce paid plans for the cloud features later; the computer app is meant to stay free. We will announce any prices before charging anyone, and accounts created during early access will be offered a founder price.

Availability

Privvy Cloud is provided as is. We aim to keep it running but do not guarantee uptime, and the phone features stop working while it is down. The computer app keeps working without it.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss or damage arising from using Privvy, including anything a person did at a covered computer, missed alarms, or captures that were not delivered.

Changes

We may update these terms; the date above changes when we do. Continued use means you accept the current version.
